android-5.0-lollipop

Android 5.0 Lollipop is gradually making its way to supported devices after having been released for the Nexus crop of smartphones and tablets. Some OEMs have really put the hammer down in trying to get the update out as soon as possible. HTC is believed to roll out Lollipop for the Google Play Edition of HTC One (M8) and (M7) by Friday. Leaked screenshots that surfaced online today show what the new software might look like on the HTC One (M8).

These screenshots show Lollipop on a non-GPE model of HTC One (M8) which means we also get an idea of what HTC’s custom user interface will look like when it arrives with Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Screenshots have been leaked online by @LlabTooFer, a respected developer, which shows what HTC Sense will look like when this smartphone is updated to the latest Android release. We see that the recent apps switcher looks similar to the one on stock Android, and the quick settings menu gets an overdose of gray with a little more space between the icons.

The home screen looks almost unchanged and while BlinkFeed cannot be seen here, it is expected that there won’t be any major changes on that front as well.

Even though the screenshots have been leaked we have yet to receive a confirmed release date for Android 5.0 Lollipop on HTC One (M8), hopefully the situation will become a bit more clear once the software lands on the Google Play Edition units later this week.
