ios-enterprise-activationsA couple of years ago, BlackBerry used to be the darling in the enterprise space and most companies and governments would not even need to think twice when deciding which platform and service to use. Today it is a very different scenario with Apple apparently leading the way in terms of enterprise use.

According to Good Technology’s latest Mobility Index Report (via VentureBeat), it looks like in Q3 2014, Apple’s iOS platform actually saw a slight rise in device activations in the enterprise scene. As you can see in the pie chart above, iOS is sitting at 69% which is an increase over 67% in the previous quarter.

The same cannot be said for Android as Google’s mobile platform actually slipped by 2% from 31% last quarter to 29% this quarter. Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform is still very far behind at 1%, with the other 1% classified as “other”, which we can only assume belongs to other mobile platforms.

Good Technology believes that the rise in iOS’ market share can be attributed to the launch of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. In some ways it is not surprising to see Apple’s share in the enterprise market increase. After all the company had recently announced a partnership with IBM in which they will try to push iOS into the enterprise space even more, but what do you guys think? Will Android be able to catchup anytime soon?
