previousiphonebuyers-800x336There are probably Android users who claim the reason they don’t want an iPhone is because of its small screens. There are also iPhone users who have switched to other brands because of their larger displays. Now that Apple has introduced the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, both of which offer displays in sizes at 4.7-inches and 5.5-inches respectively, does this mean we can expect an influx of new customers coming over from other platforms?

You would think that is the case, but apparently it isn’t. This is according to a recent data released by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners in which it was revealed that not as many Android users switched over the iPhone as initially thought. As you can see in the image above, the graph compares the number of former Android users from 2013 to 2014, and oddly enough it seems that less Android users made the switch to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus than they did with the iPhone 5s.

If anything these graphs show that iPhone users are the majority of 2014’s iPhone buyers. We suppose this isn’t a bad thing per se as it does mean that iPhone users are loyal to the brand. However for those who were hoping and thinking that the larger iPhones would be enough to sway Android users, we guess that isn’t the case here.

Of course there is more to choosing a smartphone than just its screen size. After all we’re talking about two different platforms with different apps and functionality. For example Android users might not necessarily care to give up their customizability just for a larger screen, not to mention devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Nexus 6 offer up just as large, if not larger displays.
