blood-sportIt is not very often that we see a Kickstarter project fail because it was suspended, but rather, due to the fact that it did not manage to raise the necessary amount of funds. Having said that, there is one particularly bloody (literally speaking) Kickstarter project that did make waves some time last week, only for it to have been suspended. The Kickstarter project in question is known as Blood Sport, where it touts to carry a game controller that is matched to a blood collection unit, allowing it to draw your blood in real life and real time each time you experience some “damage” in the game.

Funding for “Blood Sport: The Ultimate in Immersive Gaming” was suspended a few hours ago, where it raised a mere $3,390 in total out of the $250,000 Canadian dollars required. According to the folks behind Blood Sport, the Kickstarter page did not feature any claim that it will see action at home, but rather, the CAD$250,000 was asked to offset the costs of its development before it embarks on a trans-Canada blood-donation tour. Of course, backers will not be offered a unit, but they have received an invitation to head to Toronto to test it out prior.
