When it comes to tower defense games on mobile devices, Ironhide Studios’ Kingdom Rush franchise might be one of the more notable ones. The developers have released two Kingdom Rush games in the past, and gamers who loved it and can’t wait for more will be pleased to learn that a third title is in the works and will be released in the near future.

Dubbed Kingdom Rush Origins, this game will be similar to the other two Kingdom Rush games in the sense that it will be a tower defense-based title. However in terms of the story, Origins will have a backstory that is basically the prequel to the other games, so for those who actually care about the storyline as opposed to just playing the game for what it is, this should make for some interesting storytelling.

The game will also introduce new enemy units and new heroes that gamers can unlock and presumably pay for. However according to some who got a sneak peek at the game, they claim that it looks too much like its predecessor, albeit more polished, which doesn’t really make it feel like a new game per se, but rather an expansion of the previous one.

It was not mentioned whether Ironhide Studios will be going the freemium route or paid route like they did with the previous game, and where gamers could pay real money to unlock additional hero characters, but the game is scheduled for a release on the 20th of November. In the meantime you can check out the launch trailer above and check out one of the hero previews below.
