google-nexus-9-hands-on-4While the HTC Flyer from a few years ago did not exactly catapult HTC’s tablet plans into stardom like Apple’s iPads have, it could be a different story with the HTC-made Nexus 9 tablet for Google. Just the other day there was a mad rush to get the tablet at half off which caused the servers to crash and HTC to issue an apology.

Now according to reports, it seems that the Nexus 9 has proven to be so popular that HTC has had to expand its production capacity just to meet the demand of their customers. This is according to HTC’s North Asia president Jack Tong, who recently spoke at a product launch ceremony in Taipei not too long ago.

According to Tong, the demand for the Nexus 9 has been surprisingly high, so much so that HTC has had to expand their production capacity in order to keep up with their orders. This is actually not a bad problem to have, especially when you consider that HTC has been slowly losing out to rivals such as Samsung and LG over the years.

That being said the burgeoning demand for the Nexus 9 isn’t that surprising given that the tablet has been met with generally positive reviews, but will this be a one-time thing for HTC or could they repeat their success with their own branded tablets in 2015?
