nintendo-logoMany are wondering why Nintendo has yet to release one of their games on mobile devices. We’re sure many gamers would love to play an actual Pokemon, Mario, Zelda, or even Super Smash Bros. game on their smartphones or tablets, right? Well we suppose Nintendo is trying to push both hardware and software.

That being said, Nintendo’s President Satoru Iwata recently announced during an investor Q&A session that the company will be delivering a Mii app for mobile devices come 2015. Nintendo’s interest in mobile has primarily been about promoting its games and franchises. For example the recent release of Camp Pokemon does seem more like a supplement to the main Pokemon games.

In any case, it seems that the Mii app was actually targeted for a release in 2014, but apparently the company felt that it could do with a bit more polishing which is why it has since been delayed to 2015. Unfortunately apart from that little tidbit, Iwata did not dive into details as to what the app could be about.

However considering that Nintendo had at one point planned a dedicated Miiverse app which has yet to surface, we have to wonder if this upcoming Mii app will have anything to do with that or if it will be something else separate, but what do you guys think?
