pryntAre all smartphone cases created equal? That is definitely not the case at all, as evident by this startup known as Prynt. Prynt did show off to folks over at TechCrunch their most recent smartphones cases that will not only offer adequate amounts of protection for your handset, but it also comes with an integrated printer so that you will be able to share that selfie with your friends on the spot – in the physical sense of it.

In other words, your smartphone can now turn into a mini Polaroid of sorts. Many of its parts have been sourced from Shenzen of China, where the simple design will send a photo to the case via a Bluetooth connection, before it gets to down and dirty with the work of printing out the image through the act of heating paper filled with ink.

At the moment, the existing prototype would require approximately 50 seconds thereabouts to turn a photo in onto a sheet of printed paper, and it only has enough space for one piece of paper at any one time. Eventually, the final consumer friendly version is said to have a capacity of anywhere from 10 to 30 sheets of paper, and it ought not to take more than half a minute to print stuff out courtesy of better hardware integration alongside a direct physical connection between the phone and case.
