red-passportIt was at today’s BlackBerry for enterprise event where BlackBerry CEO John Chen took the opportunity to make mention of a new color variant for the BlackBerry Passport, where it will arrive in a shade of red. It was originally expected to arrive in the market for the masses some time during Christmas (which would make this striking color all the more apt), but it seems that there will be a lucky few out there who will be able to get their hands on it earlier than expected, as there will be limited quantities of this red flagship BlackBerry being revealed from tomorrow onward.

So far, this is one business-centric handset that has managed to receive a fair number of praises ever since it was launched, and BlackBerry themselves have sold out their inventory twice. Apart from boring old black and white, at least a shade of red adds another dimension to the whole device, right? BlackBerry’s U.S. online store has priced the handset at a $100 discount, which means it will now cost $599 unlocked. Do bear in mind that over in the US, it will be compatible only with a couple of major networks, namely AT&T and T-Mobile.
