lg-g-flex_05Back in 2013, LG unveiled the LG G Flex which was basically a smartphone with a rather pronounced curved display. It has been rumored that the company is planning on releasing a successor with a smaller display and this has supposedly been confirmed by tech website Ynet’s Dawn Lily who claimed to have seen the device herself.

Lily was given a tour of LG’s offices in Korea and according to her, she saw in the R&D labs a device that looked like the LG G Flex, except that it was smaller and that it was undergoing a “field test”. Like we said, this corroborates earlier rumors that suggested that the LG G Flex’s successor would be smaller.

It is unclear as to what kind of hardware specs we might expect from the LG G Flex’s successor, but considering that the LG G Flex was somewhat based on the LG G2, perhaps the LG G Flex 2 could be based on the LG G3? In any case there is no official word on the launch of the G Flex’s successor.

Some reports claim we can look forward to it before the end of 2014, while some claim that we could be looking at a release in 2015, but either way take it with a grain of salt for now but check back with us at a later date for the details.
