Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 2014 Edition owners on T-Mobile will soon start receiving a software update. There’s no need to get your hopes up. The update will bring Android 4.4.4 KitKat to your tablet, and not what you might have been expecting, which is Android 5.0 Lollipop. Sure enough the roll out of Android 5.0 Lollipop has begun but it is yet to make its way to majority of supported OEM devices out in the market, so there might be a fair bit of waiting required on that front.

As to what Android 4.4.4 KitKat brings to the table, well it happens to be the last incremental update that was released for KitKat. It features important fixes for some security bugs and vulnerabilities, apart from bringing performance and stability improvements.

The Android 4.4.4 KitKat update for T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 2014 Edition carries build number P607TUVUANJ4 and also includes IPv6 updates. A new feature has been added to the tablet courtesy of this software update.

This new feature is called Download Booster and it debuted on Samsung’s flagship smartphone earlier in the year, it is about time that Download Booster made its way to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 2014 Edition.

T-Mobile is going to roll out this update over-the-air, which means that it will take a while before this update lands on your tablet.
