tmobile music freedom

Earlier this year T-Mobile introduced a new service called Music Freedom. The idea is pretty simple. Subscribers can stream music from a variety of different streaming services without having it count towards their data bucket, so they can stream music without having to worry about data charges. Initially only six music streaming services were supported by Music Freedom but over time T-Mobile has added others to the list as well. Today Google Play Music joins the list, along with many others.

Back in August six additional services were added to Music Freedom, which previously only supported Pandora, iHeartRadio, iTunes Radio, Rhapsody, Slacker, Spotify and Milk Music. AccuRadio, Black Planet, Grooveshark, Radio Paradise, Rdio and Songza were added in August.

T-Mobile announced this morning that it is adding 14 more services to the Music Freedom list. One of the additions was actually the number one voted addition.

Starting today, T-Mobile Simple Choice plan subscribers can stream music from a total of 27 music services, which now includes Google Play Music, Xbox Music, SoundCloud, RadioTunes, Digitally Imported, Fit Radio, Fresca Radio, JAZZRADIO, Live365, Mad Genius Radio, radioPup, radio.com, ROCKRADIO and Saavn.

The carrier had asked subscribers to vote for the services that they wanted to be included and Google Play Music was clearly the winner of the popular vote.
