gmail

Folks who follow Android related news knew that a new Gmail app for the platform was due to be released and now it has finally landed. Version 5.0 of Gmail for Android brings several design improvements courtesy of Material Design. Its functionality has also been enhanced courtesy of Exchange Support which is now available within the application.

Exchange support means that users will now be able to access their corporate or exchange accounts from straight within the Gmail app on their Android device. There’s even support for multiple inboxes and it is possible to integrate rival services like Yahoo Mail and Outlook.

The term Material Design gets thrown around a lot these days because it is a salient feature of Android 5.0 Lollipop. It basically brings a whole new look and feel to the mobile platform with vibrant colors and animations, flat design elements and more. The new Gmail for Android has been developed keeping Material Design in mind.

So get this app if you can’t wait for a piece of Lollipop on your device. Since the update may take a lot of time before it becomes available for the majority of supported Android devices out there, Gmail with Material Design not only provides function, but it does it while looking very pretty.

Gmail for Android version 5.0 is now available as a free download.
