There’s good news for you if you’re a fan of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater franchise. It looks like the franchise is set to make a return in some form, and that too on console. This has been confirmed by the skateboard icon Tony Hawk himself. Hawk took to Twitter to make this announcement, without revealing any more details about what the new game is going to be called and when it will be released.

Hawk himself confirmed through Twitter that he has teamed up with Activision “on a console game for 2015.” Without revealing any further details, Hawk merely says that he thinks fans of Tony Hawk Pro Skater franchise “will be hyped.”

That’s not all though. He also mentioned in the tweet that they’re working on a new mobile game as well so it will be completely new experience across both platforms, console and mobile.

Tony Hawk: Shred, released in 2012, as the last iteration in this franchise which will released for console. The game didn’t do quite well and since then only a couple of mobile releases have taken place. There hasn’t been a proper THPS release for console in nearly five years but that’s evidently about to be changed.

Details about the game’s final title will probably be confirmed next year when the release draws near. It hasn’t been confirmed whether this new game will be available only on next-gen consoles or if the PS3 and Xbox 360 will be supported as well.
