whatsappWhile many developers are probably taking advantage of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus’ larger displays, there are some apps which have yet to be optimized for it. Facebook-owned WhatsApp was one of them, at least until recently where the developers finally released an update for the app that optimizes its for Apple’s new iPhones.

The latest version of WhatsApp will bump the app up to version 2.11.14 with support for the new iPhones along with fixes that should address bugs and crashes. Prior to this, the app was basically scaled to fit the new screens which wasn’t exactly an optimal solution for many users out there.

WhatsApp has been a bit slow on the updating front. With the iPhone 5, WhatsApp’s developers also took quite a while to update the app to fit the 4-inch display. In the meantime users had to contend with the app’s letterboxing which was not only ugly but hardly an ideal situation, but we guess with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, they worked a little faster.

For those who have yet to update their WhatsApp on their new iPhones, you can go ahead and pop on over to the iTunes App Store to grab the latest update. Alternatively those without the new iPhones can go ahead and update their app anyway to get the bug fixes.
