liquid-jade-sAcer of Taiwan has just announced the Liquid Jade S, which so happens to be an upgraded version of the Liquid Jade smartphone that was first revealed to the masses earlier this May. At first glance, it does look as though the Acer Liquid Jade S is more or less a similar model from its predecessor, but what the Acer Liquid Jade S has for its selling point would be the fact that this is the very first 64-bit smartphone from Acer, where it runs on an octa-core 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6752M processor.

Ready to be launched in Taiwan this coming December 18th, the Acer Liquid Jade S will carry a price tag that is roughly the equivalent of $225 after conversion, which ain’t too shabby at all, really, since it sports a 5” 720p IPS display, LTE connectivity, dual-SIM capabilities, DTS sound, a 13MP camera at the back, a 5MP front-facing camera, 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory, all of it crammed into a chassis that measures 143mm x 69mm x 7.78mm while tipping the scales at 116 grams.

A 2,300mAh battery will keep the Acer Liquid Jade S running. Any takers for this seemingly mid-range handset? It remains to be seen whether it will be released outside of Taiwan or not.
