amazon surpriseSo the holidays are nearly upon us, and if you’re the type that likes sending out e-cards as opposed to physical cards (save paper!), you might be interested to learn that Amazon has launched a new mobile app for iOS and Android users called “Surprise!”. The app basically allows mobile users to create and send out their very own e-cards.

This is hardly groundbreaking technology as there are plenty of other e-card services and apps out there. In fact Amazon’s own Surprise! app does not offer as many design choices as the competition out there, but the ones that are offered actually look pretty decent, albeit a tad generic.

The e-cards are customizable and users can choose their holidays as well as personalize them by adding photos, audio, or video. In fact if you’re feeling particularly generous or don’t know what to get someone for the holiday, you can also attach an Amazon Gift Card within the e-card itself.

For those who do give out gift cards frequently, the app basically lets you do so effortlessly, as opposed to having to go to Amazon’s website and sending it out, or sending it via email as the e-card would make for better :packaging”. The app is available for download via the iTunes App Store, Google Play, and the Amazon Appstore.
