Given that Amazon is one of the largest online retailers it goes without saying that many people are going to use it for shopping, and if they’re hoping to get the products delivered by Christmas, they have two additional days to get their orders in. Amazon has extended its Christmas delivery cutoff to December 19th, the company announced today that customers who purchase items by 11:59 pm ET on Friday will be able to get them delivered for free by Christmas Eve.

Many will recall that last year some big retailers had trouble meeting Christmas delivery deadlines, Amazon was one of them, but this year it appears to be more confident. For starters, the cutoff date extension is a major sign in itself since last year Amazon’s cutoff date for Christmas deliveries was December 17th.

The online retail giant now believes that December 18th is going to be its busiest shipping day of 2014, and there’s every possibility that it will be so. It gets even better for Amazon Prime members who can avail free two-day shipping as late as December 22nd.

Those who procrastinate too much and leave things to the very end will even be able to take advantage of Amazon’s same-day delivery on Christmas Eve, but this is only offered in 12 major metro areas, with orders placed as late as 10 am local time being delivered later that same day.
