iphone-5s-review-014With the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, Apple finally gave fans what they wanted – an iPhone with a bigger display at 4.7-inches and 5.5-inches respectively. So what’s next for Apple? Move closer to the 6-inch range? Well if rumors are to be believed, Apple might actually be taking a step back and moving towards 4-inch phones again.

This is according to an investor’s note issued by analyst Timothy Arcuri of Cowen and Company in which he stated that Apple was working on a 4-inch iPhone that could make its debut in 2015. Arcuri states that it is possible that we could end up seeing three flagship phones in 2015, with updated hardware on the two current models followed by a “mini” iPhone 6 with a 4-inch display.

He goes on to add that his source told him that the specifications of the “mini” iPhone 6 will be similar to that of the iPhone 5s, except that Apple would change its design to mimic that of the newer iPhone models. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard rumors about a 4-inch iPhone 6. In fact we have heard several such rumors before.

It is possible that there is a shred of truth to these claims – either that or Arcuri is basing his note on the current rumors. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now but we’re not sure if going back to a 4-inch display with 2-year old hardware specs might be the best move for Apple, but what say you?
