For a couple of years now we have been hearing rumors that Apple is working on a smartwatch. The company finally puts the rumors to bed this September when it unveiled the Apple Watch. This product is going to hit the market until “early 2015” but recently there have been reports about manufacturing issues with the device which might push back the release date. A report out of China now claims that the issues have been taken care of so mass production of the Apple Watch has actually begun earlier than originally anticipated.

The manufacturing issues that we kept hearing about again and again were basically with some important components that will go inside the Apple Watch, such as its processor, display, various chips and many other parts. Presumably the component manufacturers have been able to overcome hurdles.

What this means is that they will be able to get the components out in time, allowing Apple’s manufacturing partner to start producing Apple Watch units at full speed.

Previously the production was believed to begin in February but the report claims it will get underway in January. Quanta is tasked with mass production and it will produce the first batch, which might consist 3-5 million units of the Apple Watch.

So far Apple hasn’t dropped any hints about the expected release date of this device. The only thing we can do at this point in time is wait, and hope that Apple breaks its silence over its first smartwatch soon.
