asus-pegasus-x002The Meizu Blue Charm Note, also known as the Meizu m1 note, was released officially earlier this morning in China, where it does seem to deliver a decent smartphone experience without requiring you to sell off your firstborn in order to own one of these in your pockets. Well, since healthy competition does spur one another to do better than its rivals, here we are with ASUS of Taiwan’s spanking new Pegasus X002 smartphone.

The ASUS Pegasus X002 will retail for a highly affordable $130 (after conversion), where this modest handset will come with a 5” 720p display, a 64-bit quad-core MT6732 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory, an 8MP camera at the back, a 5MP front-facing camera for selfie lovers, and a 2,500mAh battery unit to keep it up and running. This LTE-enabled smartphone will feature Android 4.4 KitKat as the mobile operating system of choice, where it will be topped off with ASUS’ Zen UI.

Of course, we do not really know of the target market of the ASUS Pegasus X002, although it would not be too far out of character to mention that the whole idea behind the Pegasus X002 was to compete with the Xiaomi Redmi 1S as well as the possible Meizu Blue Charm K52, and we think it’s going to be really good at that.
