Hate fiddling with the locks on your luggage? Worried about leaving it behind by accident? Trying to figure out its weight but don’t have a weighing scale? Well those are problems that some travellers face, but these are problems that can be potentially addressed with the Bluesmart smart carry-on suitcase.

Bluesmart is a suitcase that pairs with your smartphone thanks to an accompanying app. Through the app, users will be able to digitally lock/unlock their suitcase. The locks are TSA approved and will also be able to notify the user when it has been opened, so you can tell if and when your suitcase is being tampered with.

Through the app, users will also be able to figure out the weight of the suitcase to make sure that it is able to make the weight for a carry-on suitcase, otherwise they might be forced to check it in. The app will also be able to notify users when they have left their suitcase behind as well as pin-point the location of their bag should they lose it.

Now one of the most nifty features of all, in our opinion, would be the fact that the suitcase comes with a built-in battery of its own. This means that it will allow users to charge their smartphone via their suitcase! According to its creators, it will be able to charge your smartphone 6 times over.

Unfortunately you will not be able to get your hands on the device just yet as it has been planned for a mid-2015 shipping, but in the meantime you can learn more about it by watching the video above, or by heading on over to its website where you can pre-order it for $260 (down from $450).
