fb-ipadWhat do you make use of your iPad for primarily? Well, I would suppose most of us would make use of it for casual reading as well as gaming while one is on the move, not to mention to use it as some sort of portable media player. Well, I am quite sure that social networking also plays quite an important role, and Facebook happens to be the most popular one in the US at the moment. Facebook has just updated its iPad app by offering a new right-hand column that will appear only when it is viewed in landscape mode.

The right-hand column will highlight the relevant areas of interest, ranging from news and games, in addition to a slew of other features that will hopefully allow the app to be more useful. The new sidebar module called Trending Articles (which was announced not too long ago), where it will show off articles from sources which are relevant to you, or happen to be related to pages or friends whom you follow, including the city you live in, your favorite sports team as well as other sources that you have “Liked” on Facebook.

It has been said that the Trending Articles segment resembles that of a miniaturized news portal, where it comprises of a quartet of segments, where you can switch between them by swiping left or right.
