OEMs often try to advertise how thin and light their smartphones are whenever they’re trying to push a new device in the market. Samsung might be able to make such claims as well when the Galaxy A7 enters the market. This device has been rumored for a couple of months now, and while the devices it was supposed to launch with have already been made official, Samsung is yet to officially confirm the Galaxy A7’s existence. There’s ample evidence to support theories that its coming out soon, and when it does, it may be known as the thinnest smartphone that Samsung has ever released.

Earlier this week the Galaxy A7 was caught making the customary stop at the FCC. This is usually taken as an indicator that the launch is near. There have already been multiple reports that suggest Samsung will soon unveil the Galaxy A7.

The Galaxy A7 has also made the certification stop at TENNA, the Chinese equivalent of the FCC. Documents submitted to the agency have revealed that this device is going to measure in at just 6.3mm.

Other specifications include a 5.5-inch display, a 1.5GHz Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage, 5 megapixel front and a 12 megapixel rear camera. The Galaxy A7 is expected to debut in China first before it makes its way to other markets around the world.
