htc-sense-6-android-5While we did read about how the Android 5.0 Lollipop update was released for the HTC One (M8) and HTC One (M7) Google Play Edition smartphones more than a week ago, how about those who do not own the Google Play Edition versions? Well, fret not, it seems that the folks over at HTC have delivered a promise to offer Android 5.0 Lollipop to both smartphones when January 3, 2015 rolls around.

HTC has promised to update both of its flagship models within 90 days of receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop source code from Google. The date where HTC received the source code from Google was November 3rd, which means the beginning of February next year as the deadline that HTC has placed upon itself, so it is nice to see the January 3rd date being bandied about.

The all new 64-bit Lollipop has been touted to arrive with a new Material Design-inspired HTC Sense interface, and what you see above happen to be alleged screenshots from a test HTC One (M8) that has Android 5.0 Lollipop running on it, sporting the possible new HTC Sense interface to boot. Do you like what you see so far, or do you prefer it to arrive without any kind of skin running atop?
