oneplus inviteOnePlus did run into some snafus when it comes to holding a competition earlier this year, where it did not go down too well. OnePlus has not stopped there, but they have instead announced a different contest for their fans, where this one has no kind of sexist overtones about it, but rather, to look for customers “who refuse to compromise” when it comes to naming the upcoming custom ROM.

OnePlus did mention that the unnamed ROM will “be close to stock, bloat-free, and highly customizable.” Apart from that, it will be released “much sooner than you likely expected.” Which is a good thing, right? After all, sooner is better than later, right? It is said that the custom ROM which is in the pipeline will be built on Android 5.0 Lollipop, where a first release is on track for a January release.

In the past, OnePlus did mention that they wanted to sell a million OnePlus One handsets before the year is over, and a month ago, it was announced that they had managed to sell 500,000 units of those bad boys already. I guess the one million units of phones for sale is a whole lot more manageable than originally thought.
