ubersprintLast Friday, a Paris court did not want to block Uber, a car service company, from having its Uberpop carpooling service operate in the romantic city. Needless to say, this particular move has not endeared itself to cabdrivers in France, as this working group of people are now upset at what they perceive as non-professional cab drivers who happen to be pretending to be carpooling.

How will these professional cabdrivers in Paris react? They intend to exact their own form of “revenge” through an “escargot” operation on Monday. In other words, legitimate cabs intend to drive at a snail’s pace, all the way from the two main airports in Paris, with the intention of causing huge traffic gridlocks throughout the major roads in the city, and this particular protest is tipped to last the entire day.

Uber has not been on the receiving end of good news in the courts of law for quite some time now, so this legal victory in the capital of France happens to be one of the are few. We do know that New York and Chicago intend to develop their own Uber rivals, and only time will tell if such an effort will be successful. Do you think that driving at a snail’s pace is going to endear professional cabdrivers to the public?
