google-nexus-5-red-011The Google Nexus 5 is offered in three different colors – black, white, and red. Now Google is still selling the Nexus 5 which is a cheaper and smaller alternative to the Nexus 6, and if you had your eye on the Nexus 5 and were thinking about picking it up in a red or white finish, you’re out of luck.

According to reports, it seems that Google has stopped selling the white and red version of the Nexus 5. If you were to pop onto the Google Play Store, you will realize that Google is no longer listing either the red or white variants of the handset, thus giving users only the black version to choose from.

If it was out of stock, it would still be listed, but their removal is a hint that Google has decided to stop making them. We suppose it is understandable as the Nexus 6 is currently Google’s priority and focus, and to keep churning out multiple versions of the Nexus 5 just doesn’t make much sense.

That being said if you do own the Nexus 5 in a red or white finish, we guess you would technically be owning a piece of limited hardware. We’re not sure if you could end up profiting if you were to try and sell it on eBay, but for those who like to own unique items, we guess this is it! Anyone else bummed by the removal of the red/white variations of the Nexus 5?
