samsung logo 5When it comes to consumer satisfaction, companies such as Apple and Samsung have long battled each other, but it looks like as far as 2014 is concerned, Samsung will be able to end the year with a win over Apple. Based on this year’s American Consumer Satisfaction index, it looks like Samsung has walked away with the title of being the best smartphone company.

For a while Apple has been leading the way with a score in the 80s, although those numbers have appeared to be on a downwards trend. This is compared to Samsung who was in the 70s, but we guess the tables have turned as Samsung has managed to nab a score of 81 this year, while Apple only managed to score 79.

This is a pretty big deal for Samsung as they have finally managed to beat Apple on their own turf in the US. Of course it is entirely possible that come 2015, things could change and we could see Apple take the lead once again. However if the rumors about Samsung’s Galaxy S6 are to be believed, there is a chance that Samsung would be able to maintain their lead.

In fact Samsung’s win is actually a bit surprising given how popular both the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are, but it is possible that the “bendgate” scandal and the general unavailability of the phones might have attributed to a lower score, but what do you guys think? Are you surprised that Samsung managed to take the lead this year?
