slingplayer-amazonThe folks over at Sling Media have just revealed the Slingplayer app for the Amazon Fire TV, where upon installation of this free app, you will be able to make use of it so that you can stream not only live, but also recorded programs as well, all from a compatible Slingbox device. In other words, if you so happen to have Slingbox that has been set up in one room, you will then gain the capability of streaming live shows to another TV within the same home – as long as that particular TV comes with a $39 Fire TV Stick or a $99 Fire TV that is connected to it. Should your Slingbox be hooked up to a DVR, you will then be able to stream recorded programs, too.

Apart from that, one can also choose to beam content over the Internet so that one can continue to keep up with TV whenever one happens to be on the road. Sling Media has been making available both Slingbox models and apps for quite some time now, but the Fire TV app comes with supports for the recent Slingbox devices only, namely the Slingbox 350, Slingbox 500, and Slingbox M1.

It has been reported that the Fire TV app happens to be a wee bit buggy, although fingers crossed that whatever niggling issues there are will be weeded out in future updates.
