Terra Motors happens to be the top manufacturer of electric two and three wheelers over in the Land of the Rising Sun (which is Japan just in case you were wondering), and Terra Motors has recently unveiled what they call the ‘R6’ Japanese electric three wheelers – of which will go on sale from next year onward.
Toru Tokushige, CEO & Founder, Terra Motors shared on their strong commitment to the region of Asia, “There is huge three wheeler market in Asia, for example in India. Currently, there are so many e-rickshaw from China without the government approval in those countries. So we’ll release “R6” with a strong durability and safety.“
Terra Motors intends to take baby steps, targeting a mere 10,000 units of sales for electric three wheelers within 2015 in India alone, which so happens to be the world’s second most populated country in the world. Right now, Terra Motors are anticipating the future by working on two to three types electric three wheelers, where among them will include the e-rickshaw segment at a competitive price. If there is one thing that I can comment on, it would be the design – it looks just so basic, that some sleek lines would have been nice, never mind that it is not going to travel any faster.
