unitedairlinesiphone6plusAmongst consumers, it is safe to say that Android certainly commands the lion’s share of the market, but in working conditions, it’s still pretty much anybody’s game. For example we have heard of how some airline companies have decided to equip their staff with Microsoft products like tablets and Windows Phone devices.

Well as far as United Airlines are concerned, it looks like they have decided to equip their flight attendants with the iPhone 6 Plus. So what’s the reason for giving their flight attendants a behemoth of a smartphone? Well according to United Airlines, the goal is to help process onboard retail transactions, you know when the flight attendant comes around asking if you’d like to buy anything.

According to Sam Risoli, United Airlines’ senior vice president of inflight services, “iPhone 6 Plus will enable them to deliver an even higher level of flyer-friendly service and will offer our flight attendants simple, one-touch access to valuable work information, enabling them to better serve our customers.”

Apart from being used just for transactions, it has been imagined that in the future, the iPhone 6 Plus could also replace the printed safety manuals with electronic versions, and at the same time allow flight attendants to make their reports in real-time as well as see if there are any cabin issues or repairs that needs to be done.
