verizon-logo-stone-wallWe’re not sure how many of you guys out there use Verizon Messages, but if you do, you might be interested to learn that the app is about to get an update in the near future that will allow users to send each other Starbucks eGift Cards, so that if and when you think a friend needs a little caffeine fix, you can send some love their way.

This is according to a recent email Verizon had sent over to the folks at Droid-Life which reads, “Later this month, you will be able to send a Starbucks eGift Card through a Verizon Messages service enhancement! Just click on the Gift icon in any one-on-one conversation in the Verizon Messages mobile app to send a Starbucks eGift Card to another mobile phone.”

Like we said we don’t know how many of you guys actually use Verizon Messages, especially when you consider that there are many other instant messaging apps out there, not to mention the official Starbucks app already lets users send each other eGift Cards, so we’re not sure why this might be a draw.

That being said, Verizon Messages is a free download for those who are interested in checking it out, however as the app description notes, the app is intended for Verizon customers only, so if you aren’t on Verizon’s network then the app isn’t for you.
