macbook airWe have been hearing rumors that Apple is planning a 12-inch MacBook Air. The rumored laptop is said to sport a brand new design that could do away with certain standard connectivity ports in favor of making it as thin as possible. So when is this rumored 12-inch MacBook Air arriving? Previously Apple had unveiled new laptops at WWDC 2015, but a new rumor has suggested a possible earlier launch.

According to reports, it seems that Apple’s supplier Quanta Computer has begun to ramp up the production of the 12-inch MacBook Air, and while we can’t say we’re too surprised, the reports are claiming that the ramp up in production is so that the laptops can be ready in time for a possible delivery in Q1 2015.

Considering that Apple does not have any events scheduled for Q1 as most of their events take place in the middle and later part of the year, this would be a change of pace. Also given that the rumored 12-inch MacBook Air is said to sport a completely new design, we reckon that this is something that Apple would want to publicize and share at an event, like WWDC.

In any case do take it with a grain of salt for now, but if you were curious about the new 12-inch MacBook Air, perhaps you should hold off on any purchases at the moment just in case the Q1 release rumors turn out to be true.
