When it comes to Android smartphones, Acer might not necessarily be a name known to many, at least as far as smartphones are concerned. However it hasn’t stopped the company from releasing new Android products and at CES 2015, Acer has taken the wraps off one of their newer smartphones in the form of the Liquid Jade S.

This is a 5-inch Android smartphone that will be powered by MediaTek’s 64-bit chipset that will also support 4G LTE connectivity. The Liquid Jade S will also come with a 13MP rear-facing camera with a rather impressive f/1.8 aperture that should allow it to perform faster under low light conditions. The front-facing camera is of the 5MP variety and will feature voice commands to allow users to snap photos using their voice.

Acer has also extended some of its technology to the Liquid Jade S, such as AcerEXTEND that basically allows users to connect their smartphone to their computer and type with their keyboard, just in case using the onscreen keyboard isn’t for you or isn’t quite as fast. Acer will also be bundling AcerNAV which is an offline navigation software powered by TomTom.

The Acer Liquid Jade S will come with Android 4.4 KitKat but according to Acer, it will be compatible with Android 5.0 Lollipop and should receive the update later in the year. Priced at €299, the Acer Liquid Jade S should be made available in select EMEA retailers later this month.
