lg g3 lollipopBack in October 2014, we had heard from LG that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the LG G3 would be arriving soon. Well the good news for LG G3 owners in the US is that it looks like your wait could soon be coming to an end. According to LG USA’s Twitter account, they have announced that Android 5.0 Lollipop would be arriving soon.

We suppose this is just another reminder that the update would be headed our way, but unfortunately LG USA did not mention when exactly we could expect the update to be released. Tne Android 5.0 Lollipop update has been released in countries/regions like the UK and in Europe, so we reckon it shouldn’t take too long before it is released stateside.

However a stateside release also means that it would have to go through carrier approval first, so when exactly you will get the update will also depend on how long it takes for the carrier to approve it. In the meantime for those who just can’t wait around for the update, there are alternative methods of getting Android 5.0 which is to flash an Android 5.0-based ROM, like CyanogenMod. Either way do check back with us at a later date for the details.
