assassins-creed-release-dateAre you a fan of Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise? Have bought and played every single Assassin’s Creed title that has been released to date? Well if you are a fan, you might have heard that there will be an Assassin’s Creed movie. You have probably heard that the movie has been delayed to 2016, and the good news is that we now have a specific release date.

According to reports, it has been confirmed that the Assassin’s Creed movie has been given a release date on the 21st of December 2016. This means that we’re still pretty much about 2 years away from being able to see it, but at least we now have something more concrete to look forward to.

Unfortunately the story of the upcoming movie still remains a bit of a mystery. However what we do know is that Michael Fassbender of X-Men fame will be starring in it. It is still unclear as to which Assassin Fassbender will be playing, although some had previously speculated that he could be taking on the role of Desmond, but that remains to be seen.

Ubisoft reported last year that they had managed to sell over 73 million Assassin’s Creed titles to date, so safe to say the franchise has its fans, and here’s hoping that the movie will be able to live up to their expectations. So, is anyone else looking forward to it?
