Just yesterday it was rumored that AT&T is soon going to announce that its Mobile Share Value subscribers will be able to rollover unused data from one month to another. This would make it the second major carrier in the U.S. to start offering this facility to users. AT&T has just confirmed that shareable rollover data will be available for all 50 million of its Mobile Share Value subscribers at no extra cost.
If this move seems familiar that’s because T-Mobile beat AT&T to the punch. Late last year Magenta announced Data Stash which lets users rollover unused data. AT&T has done something along the same lines and it wouldn’t be unfair to assume that T-Mobile’s move might have compelled it to do so.
According to the carrier all Mobile Share Value customers will automatically receive rollover data from January 25th at no extra cost. These subscribers will have their unused shareable plan data left behind in a given month rolled over to be used within the next month. Data will be available across all smartphones and devices that run on the same Mobile Share Value plan.
Once the data has been rolled over customers will first use their plan allotment data within the given month before they can use the rollover data, and unused rollover data can’t be carried over.
