q7-bnoWhat happens when you purchase a top range model from Audi, especially where the Audi Q7 is concerned? Why, it makes perfect sense for the German automaker to throw in other high quality components as well, and in this particular case, we see Audi working alongside Bang & Olufsen to deliver what has been deemed to be the “most revolutionary collaborative sound system to date”.

The new Audi Q7 which saw the veil lifted from it over at the North American Motor Show in Detroit, will also boast of a Bang & Olufsen 3D Advanced Sound System. With this particular sound system, it will deliver an enlarged 3D sound stage with the implementation of conventional surround sound placements, in addition to height channels.

All of the extra height information will be picked up from tracks using Fraunhofer’s sound processing algorithm Symphoria, making sure that both the driver and passengers – and we are talking about across three rows of seating here, will be completely engulfed in audio goodness. This is made possible thanks to B&O’s class-D BeoCore amplifier, which is touted to deliver up to 1,900 watts of power, all through 23 loudspeakers in the car where each one of them will be powered by separate amplified channels. Do take note that this system is exclusive to the Audi Q7, so you will not be able to find it anywhere else.
