In the past couple of years or so, we have seen an increase in hacking activity, not to mention the revelations that our government is spying on us. This has led to an increasing demand for tools that will protect our privacy and secure our information and has also led to the creation of devices like the Blackphone and the Boeing Black.

That being said if you wanted more devices like that, you might be interested in a device called the Boss Phone. This is an Indiegogo project that is hoping to raise funds to create a phone that places emphasis on security. Created by a company called Briggs & Spriggs, we can’t be sure if this is a tablet or a phone as it comes with a whopping 7-inch display.

Under the hood it will be powered by a MediaTek octa-core processor and will come with an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, a 3,000mAh battery, dual-SIM support, and Android 5.0 Lollipop. Not exactly features to be shouting about, but its key selling point would be the fact that it is Tor-certified.

It will also feature Tor security features embedded at the root level which should allow users to have highly secure private conversations. It will also allow for secure internet browsing and according to its creators, it has been certified by the Anonymity experts at The Guardian Project. If you’d like to pledge your support or learn more, head on over to its Indiegogo page for the details.
