cross-road-gpsCrossy Road, which must have obtained its inspiration from Frogger, is an endless kind of Froger title that hails from developer Hipster Whale. This particular title was launched on Google Play today, as announced via Twitter. Similar to the version found on iOS, this Google Play version will be free-to-play, and follows hot on the heels of the iOS version which rolled out in November last year.

It can be quite a tough task trying to hunt down Crossy Road using Google Play via a simple search, no thanks to the proliferation of clones out there, and some have said that the real deal does not even appear within the first 50 results for “Crossy Road,” at least not unless one makes use of quotation marks, hence a direct link would save you a whole lot of hassle and trouble.

How does Crossy Road work? Well, you will make use of your touchscreen to swipe so that your character will cross roads, train tracks and water, all the while doing your very best to avoid various hazards including oncoming cars, trains and a particularly pesky bird that will grab hold of you if you remain stationary for too long. You will start off as a chicken avatar, before you pick up, earn and purchase in-game coins in order to unlock over 50 other characters. Crossy Road first appeared on the Android platform on the Amazon App Store on December 143 last year.
