Its not uncommon to see game launches getting botched. We saw this many times over the past year with titles like Driveclub, Assassin’s Creed Unity and Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The launch of this title didn’t go off smoothly and when things like this happen people who paid for the game are given free goodies to make up for the inconvenience. Owners of Halo: The Master Chief Collection are now receiving a free month of Xbox Live for test of their patience during the launch.

Xbox exclusive Halo: The Master Chief Collection was plagued with a variety of issues when it was launched last year. Since then the developer has released multiple patches for the title to make things better, particularly matchmaking for online players, and this have improved gradually.

As a token of its appreciation Microsoft is giving a month’s worth of Xbox Live Gold to people who purchased this title on or before December 19th, 2014. All of those customers will receive one month of Xbox Live Gold subscription absolutely free.

Customers who are eligible for this have received a message from Microsoft and the free month has already been applied to their accounts, so no further action is required. An apology has already been issued to make up for the inconvenience caused to gamers.
