ThinkPad-T550-3While some business users might appreciate owning a laptop that is slim and light, there are those who just travel way too frequently or go to locations where ruggedness might be prioritized. Well if you consider yourself such a user, you might be pleased to learn that for CES 2015, Lenovo has announced the ThinkPad T450 and the ThinkPad T550.

Both laptops have been designed to be rugged, which according to Lenovo has been durability tested for military spec compliance, so safe to say that these laptops should be able to withstand the occasional bump or drop without the user worrying about it getting wrecked. The main difference between both models would be their screen sizes, with the T450 sporting a 14-inch display while the T550 sporting a 15-inch display.

Their weights are also different with the T450 and T550 weighing in at 4lbs and 5lbs respectively. Lenovo has also mentioned that these weights are about 15% lighter than their predecessors, so if you have used older models, perhaps the new weights might sit better with you. Both laptops will be powered by Intel’s 5th gen Core processors and with the T550, users can opt for a Full HD or 3k display options.

The Lenovo ThinkPad T450 will be priced starting at $849 while the T550 will be priced starting at $999, and both models are expected to go on sale later this month.
