office androidMicrosoft Office for the iPad has been around since early 2014 where it is open for all iOS users. Unfortunately for Android users, the suite of productivity apps has yet to be released for everyone as it was previously only made available as a preview for those who signed up for it. Well the good news is that if you wanted in on it, Microsoft has announced that they will be expanding the Office for Android preview program.

According to Microsoft, if you’d like to check out Microsoft Office for Android, all you’d need is an ARM-based Android tablet with a display size ranging between 7-inches to 10.1-inches. It will also need to run on at least Android 4.4 KitKat, but those running on Android 5.0 Lollipop should have no issues either.

There have been some reports of users running into issues with Intel-based Android laptops, so if you have one of those, you can try your luck although it does not seem like it will be an optimal experience. Like we said previously users had to sign up in order to gain access to the preview, but with Microsoft expanding their preview program, users will just need to hop on over to the Google Play Store and just download it like they would any app.

All three apps – Word, Excel, PowerPoint – are available for download so if you’re interested in taking it for a spin, head on over to Google Play for the download.
