mushkin-striker-ssd[CES 2015] Mushkin is a name that is synonymous with high performance memory, and this time around, they have taken the grand occasion known as CES 2015 to unveil the latest member of their STRIKER series of solid state drives. Touted to offer top-tier performance specifications, the Mushkin STRIKER 2.5” SSD is yet another step in the right direction for Mushkin to deliver a truly balanced SSD solution which offers plenty of bang for your hard earned buck, sporting a performance level that one cannot complain about, in addition to having a high capacity.

The STRIKER 2.5” SSD offers sequential read and write throughput of up to 565 and 550MB/s respectively, alongside random performance of up to 90,000 4K IOPS. It will be launched in capacities that range from 240GB, going all the way to 960GB, and will hit retail channels some time in the first quarter of this year for a yet undisclosed price.

Some of the features include a Phison PS3110-S10 controller, quad core, 8-channel, 256-bit AES encryption support, Opal 2.0, end-to-end data path protection, SmartECC, SmartRefresh, SmartFlush, GuaranteedFlush, SATA 3.0 (6Gb/s) interface (backwards compatible with SATA 3Gb/s and 1.5Gb/s), 120 bit per 2KB ECC strength, high-speed MLC NAND, a 2.5” 7mm form factor, and user-upgradeable firmware.
