It was first rumored last week that Samsung is working on a handful of new tablets which will be released at some point later this year. Not much is known about these tablets at this point in time, their purported model numbers have appeared online though, and the latest bit of information is about the expected aspect ratios of the screens. Apparently the new Samsung tablets will have 4:3 screen aspect ratios.

The Samsung SM-T55x and SM-P55x upcoming tablets are expected to have 9.7-inch screens whereas the SM-T35x and SM-P35x may have 8-inch screens both with 4:3 aspect ratios, which would be quite similar to that of the Apple iPad and Nexus 9.

According to Sammobile these tablets will have a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quadcore processor under the hood. No details on other specifications are available right now the likelihood of SM-T35x and SM-T55x being successors of the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 and Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 might give you some idea. The other two models are expected to be new additions to Samsung’s mid-range tablet lineup.

Samsung hasn’t confirmed anything about new tablets as yet so take this information with a pinch of salt for now. The scribe says not to expect the new tablets at Mobile World Congress 2015 in March, only a vague timeframe is provided, that too of Q2 or Q3, 2015.
