ios-8.1-mainBack in December, Apple released iOS 8.1.2 for iOS devices. This is an update that came with the usual bug fixes and improvements, although if there was one area that the update didn’t address, it was the fact that it did not seem to address any of the battery woes from before. We had heard that iOS 8.1.3 was in the works, and it looks like it could be released next week.

According to the folks at BGR, they have heard that Apple could be planning on releasing the next iOS update sometime next week. Their source has informed them that the update is coming, although they did not mention if this might be a beta seed or a public release, so it is possible that its release could only be for developers.

It is unclear if the next update will be iOS 8.1.3 or if it could be a major one that might bump it to iOS 8.2, but chances are we could be looking at a smaller update for now. Their source has informed them that the update should be arriving either on a Tuesday or Wednesday, so we guess we’ll just have to keep our eyes peeled for more information.

In the meantime we can only hope that the update Apple is planning on releasing will address some of the bugs and problems plaguing iOS 8 at the moment, like the battery issue we have mentioned above, and hopefully we can avoid another fiasco like iOS 8.0.1.
