sharp-4k-tv-2015Maybe a year or two ago, 4K televisions were rare as Full HD was the standard in terms of resolutions. Fast forward to 2015, while Full HD resolutions are still aplenty, there are more manufacturers when it comes to 4K devices and if you’re looking to get a 4K television, you might be interested to learn that Sharp has recently announced new AQUOS 4K televisions at CES 2015.

These new televisions are the UB30, UE30, and the UH30. All three televisions will feature 4K resolutions and will come with quad-core processor, H.265 and VP9 codecs which allows 4K content to be played in its native form. Starting with the UB30 series being the entry-level of the bunch. It will come in 43-inch, 50-inch, 55-inch, and 65-inch options, with prices starting at $750 which is admittedly rather affordable as far as 4K televisions are concerned.

Next up is the UE30 series which will come with Sharp’s first 80-inch 4K TV. There will still be 60-inch and 70-inch options, but for those who desire something larger, the UE30 series could be worth taking a look at. There is also the UH30 series which is the highest end and will sport THX 4K certification. According to Sharp, to achieve the certification, the TV will have to have passed more than 400 picture quality tests to ensure that it delivers what the director had intended.

The UE30 will be priced starting at $1,949.99 and the UH30 will be priced at $3,199.99. Both the UE30 and UH30 will run on Android TV which also means that users will be able to access Google Play to download movies, apps, and play games. All models are expected to be made available come Spring 2015.
