xperia-z4-lcd-touch-digitizer-8Sony has been announcing new flagship smartphones at the start of every year, which is why some have speculated that this year at CES 2015, Sony could very well announce the Xperia Z4. Unfortunately that did not happen as the phone was a no-show, at least as far as the average CES attendee is concerned.

However according to a tweet by Ricciolo who has been known to leak Sony-related information in the past, the Xperia Z4 did make an appearance at CES albeit behind closed doors. According to Ricciolo, Sony showed off the Xperia Z4 in a secret room where they demonstrated the upcoming phone to carrier executives who were in attendance at the event.

This isn’t the first time we have heard of something similar happening. For example previously we had heard rumors that Samsung did the same thing with the Galaxy S5 back in 2014, but given that we have no way of proving that, it’s just hearsay for now. However it isn’t that big of a stretch, after all we’re sure Sony would like to prep carriers before they launch their phone, right?

In any case given that the Xperia Z4 failed to make a public appearance at CES 2015, there is a good chance that we might learn more about the device at MWC 2015 which kicks off early March, so do check back with us then for the details.
