stir m1In the past few years, standing desks have become a trend and more homes and offices are starting to adopt them. One of these desks is the Stir Kinetic Desk that was unveiled a couple of years ago where it was also priced close to $4,000. However despite its hefty price tag, the Stir Kinetic Desk proved to be a hit, which apparently warranted a successor.

The company has recently unveiled a new standing desk in the form of the Stir Kinetic Desk M1. This desk is significantly cheaper than its predecessor at $2,990, but at the same time we reckon that is still a rather huge chunk of change. According to the folks at The Verge who managed to spend some time with the table, one of the changes Stir has made was to make the tablet thinner and gave it curved edges, which felt nicer on the wrists.

The Stir M1 also features a new cable routing system which should make cable management a lot cleaner and easier to manage. The M1 will also come with a built-in 5-inch touchscreen, an upgrade over the Kinetic Desk’s 4.3-inch display. The display will allow users to control the desk, such as adjusting the height. The processor has also been improved upon to allow faster response, and the good news is that it is upgradeable and replaceable, so you won’t have to replace your entire desk just to upgrade one component.

The M1 can also sync with multiple tables, so if you have one table at work, you can sync your preferences with your model at home so that you can come home and work on a desk that you’re already familiar and comfortable with.
